Growing up in Kaunas, Lithuania, Lina Padegimaite was immersed in sports from an early age, with both parents being basketball players who instilled a strong athletic foundation. At eight, she began playing tennis, quickly excelling and representing Lithuania in junior tournaments and the Fed Cup in 2011. Seeking greater opportunities, she moved to the United States in 2011 on a scholarship to the University of Texas, where she was named Big XII Freshman of the Year and contributed to two Big XII Conference titles.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2015, she pursued a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Texas State University, graduating in 2018. In 2020, she became a mother to her son, ΔΕΎuolas, which added a new dimension to her life and career. Her journey from Lithuania to the U.
S. and into professional pickleball reflects a blend of athletic prowess and academic dedication. In 2021, during the pandemic, Lina discovered pickleball, initially playing casually with friends.
Her competitive spirit quickly propelled her to regional tournaments, where she secured victories in 2021. By 2022, she turned professional, participating in over fifty pro tournaments and showcasing her tennis background through disciplined play. Her transition was marked by a commitment to training, balancing motherhood, and leveraging her physical therapy expertise to enhance her performance.
In 2024, she joined the California Black Bears in Major League Pickleball, contributing to their first win at MLP Las Vegas with a decisive 3-1 victory over the SoCal Hard Eights. Her performance in mixed doubles was instrumental in securing the win, highlighting her adaptability and skill. As of November 2025, Lina continues to compete at a high level, balancing her professional career with motherhood.
She resides in Dripping Springs, Texas, where she trains with other top talents in the game. Her playing style is characterized by textbook footwork and an aggressive yet controlled doubles game, reflecting her tennis background. She remains dedicated to her family and her sport, embodying the balance between personal life and professional ambition.
