Born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, in 1993, Jaume Martinez Vich began his athletic journey as a tennis player. At just 16 years old, he turned professional, competing in ITF Futures events in Spain. His talent earned him a scholarship to Hawaii Pacific University in 2013, where he excelled as a collegiate tennis player.
During his time at HPU, Jaume was named an All-American three times and received numerous accolades, including National ITA Player to Watch and HPU Male Athlete of the Year. After founding Aloha Tennis Management in Hawaii, he shifted his focus to pickleball—a decision that would change his career trajectory. Jaume’s transition to pickleball was seamless, thanks to his tennis background.
His agility, strategic mindset, and powerful shots quickly propelled him to the top ranks of the sport. Today, he’s a prominent figure on the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour and Major League Pickleball (MLP), showcasing his skills against the world’s best players. As of November 2025, Jaume Martinez Vich has solidified his status as one of pickleball’s elite players.
His rise has been meteoric since he began competing professionally in 2023. Here are some of his standout achievements: PPA Tour Success: Jaume has secured multiple podium finishes, including a silver medal at the 2023 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships. In 2024, he reached the Men’s Singles finals at the PPA Tour stop in Phoenix, defeating top-ranked players like Ben Johns.
Major League Pickleball (MLP): Named the Challenger Most Valuable Player for the Atlanta Bouncers in 2024, Jaume led his team to a No. 4 playoff seed with an impressive 32-14 record. His team is owned by NBA legend LeBron James, adding a layer of prestige to his career.
