Jade’s Profile

Born and raised in Maui, Hawaii, Jade Kawamoto was introduced to tennis by her father at a young age, a sport that was popular in her community. She and her twin sister, Jackie, both excelled in tennis during their high school years in Greenwood, Indiana, with Jackie winning the 2013 state singles championship and Jade becoming the 2014 state runner-up. Their collegiate tennis careers flourished at the University of Dayton, where they both played for the women’s tennis program.

After graduating in 2018, Jade earned a degree in Environmental Biology and began working full-time for the NCAA as an eligibility coordinator. In 2019, Jade and Jackie discovered pickleball when their father introduced them to the sport at a local community center. They quickly became passionate about it, transitioning from recreational play to competitive tournaments.

Their shared enthusiasm and competitive spirit led them to turn professional in 2021, marking a new chapter in their athletic careers. Jade’s entry into professional pickleball was marked by her partnership with her sister, Jackie, in doubles competitions. Together, they have achieved significant milestones, including a notable victory at the 2023 Beer City Open in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where they clinched the gold medal in women’s pro doubles.

Their success continued with a remarkable comeback victory at the 2025 Veolia Cincinnati Showcase, where they overcame a 4-9 deficit in the third game of the semifinals and later defeated the top-seeded team in the finals to secure their first PPA Tour titles. Off the court, Jade and Jackie are deeply involved in their community, frequently hosting tournaments to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research in Indianapolis. Their commitment to both the sport and their community underscores their dedication and passion for pickleball.

As of November 2025, Jade continues to compete at a high level, representing the Los Angeles Mad Drops in Major League Pickleball and maintaining a strong presence on the PPA Tour. Her playing style is characterized by strategic shot placement and a keen understanding of the game’s dynamics, making her a formidable opponent in both singles and doubles matches. Looking ahead, Jade aims to further elevate her game, contribute to the growth of pickleball, and inspire the next generation of players through her performances and community involvement.
