Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Hannah Blatt began her athletic journey at the age of 12, focusing on squash under the guidance of her father and grandfather. Her dedication led her to represent Canada in both the Canada Winter and Summer Games, competing against some of the nation’s best young athletes. Despite limited training facilities in Winnipeg, she honed her skills at the Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club and the Winnipeg Winter Club, emerging as Canada’s No.
1-ranked junior squash player. Her prowess in the sport earned her multiple Division 1 offers from prestigious universities, including Penn, Stanford, and Harvard. Ultimately, she chose Drexel University, where she made an immediate impact by setting a single-season wins record as a freshman.
After graduating with a degree in General Business and Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Hannah turned professional in squash, achieving a world ranking as high as No. 108. However, the demands of balancing full-time work and competitive play led to burnout, prompting her to seek a new path.
In May 2023, she entered her first professional pickleball tournament at the Boca Raton APP New York City Open, marking the beginning of her new athletic chapter. She signed exclusively with the PPA Tour, dedicating herself fully to the sport and embracing the challenges of transitioning from squash to pickleball. Her squash background provided a solid foundation, but she had to adapt her movements and techniques to the nuances of pickleball.
As of November 2025, Hannah has competed in 44 professional tournaments, playing a total of 214 matches with a career win rate of 34. 6%. She currently plays for the Brooklyn Pickleball Team in the Major League Pickleball (MLP).
Her playing style is characterized by aggressive gameplay, tight court positioning, and mental tenacity, reflecting her squash roots. Off the court, she has built a robust social media presence, engaging with over 100, 000 followers on Instagram, where she shares insights into her life as a professional athlete and promotes healthy living.
