Brooke Buckner was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and spent much of her childhood in Delray Beach, Florida. Before transitioning to pickleball, she was a standout tennis player at the University of Michigan, where she became one of the program’s most decorated athletes. After college, she served as an assistant coach for the women’s tennis team at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
In October 2020, a few months after the birth of her son, Buckner discovered pickleball and quickly recognized its potential to complement her tennis skills.
