Alexander’s Profile

Growing up in Louisville, Kentucky, Alexander Crum was immersed in sports from an early age, with tennis being a significant part of his life. He attended St. Xavier High School, where he was instrumental in securing three state titles for the team.

His passion for tennis was evident as he traveled extensively for tournaments with his father, cherishing the competitive spirit and camaraderie. However, a serious wrist injury during his college years at the University of Dayton curtailed his tennis aspirations, leading him to step away from the sport he loved. After a hiatus from competitive sports, Crum discovered pickleball in late 2023 and found the transition seamless, quickly adapting to the game’s dynamics and strategies.

Determined to make his mark, Crum began his professional pickleball journey in 2025. His breakthrough moment came at the 2025 Veolia Atlanta Pickleball Championships, where he entered the tournament ranked No. 65 and achieved a stunning upset by defeating world No.

1 Federico Staksrud in the Round of 64. This victory propelled him to the quarterfinals, significantly boosting his global ranking to 44th. Crum’s rapid ascent is attributed to his disciplined training regimen, strategic approach to matches, and unwavering commitment to the sport.

Balancing his professional pickleball career, Crum continues to coach tennis full-time in Florida, East Hampton, and Maine, dedicating 9–10 hours a day to the tennis court, five or six days a week, while incorporating pickleball practice into his schedule. As of November 2025, Crum holds a singles ranking of No. 32 with 825 points and a doubles ranking of No.

114 with 231 points on the PPA Tour. His playing style is characterized by an explosive backhand passing shot and fearless singles play, allowing him to secure victories over established professionals. Off the court, Crum pursues a music career under the artist name AC Baby, with his album “Just For Fun” reaching over a million streams on Apple Music.

He plans to record more music in June, aiming to balance his pickleball career with his creative outlets. Crum’s future in professional pickleball looks promising as he continues to compete at the highest levels, striving to achieve his goal of becoming a top 10 ranked singles player in the world.
