At 18, an injury led her to retire from professional tennis, but her passion for the sport remained unwavering. In 2010, she transitioned to a role as Tournaments and Operations Manager for Tennis NSW, overseeing numerous events annually.

Seeking new opportunities, Lara moved to the United States in 2013, where she spent a decade managing various venues in Las Vegas’s vibrant nightlife scene. In 2024, a casual introduction to pickleball reignited her competitive spirit, leading her to compete in her first PPA event in Las Vegas that October. Lara’s transition to professional pickleball was swift and impressive.

Within seven months, she climbed to #30 in the singles rankings, showcasing her dedication and natural talent. In January 2025, she reached the quarterfinals in both singles and doubles at the PPA 1000 Melbourne tournament. Her performance continued to impress, with notable victories such as a decisive win over Gabrielle May at the Proton Australia Pickleball Open, advancing her to the quarterfinals.

Despite facing challenges against top-ranked players like Genie Bouchard, Lara’s resilience and determination have been evident throughout her career. Currently, Lara is ranked #15 in women’s singles, #91 in doubles, and #61 in mixed doubles on the PPA Tour. Her playing style reflects her tennis background, characterized by powerful serves and strategic shot placement.

Off the court, she remains involved in the Las Vegas entertainment industry, balancing her professional pickleball career with her role as Beverage Manager at Magic Mike Live.
