Christa Gecheva’s journey into professional pickleball began in 2021 when she discovered the sport in Newport Beach, California. Originally from Wimbledon, London, she had a strong background in tennis, having played Division I college tennis for the University of Wyoming. After moving to Florida, she joined the Boca West Country Club as a Pickleball Touring Pro in July 2023, further solidifying her commitment to the sport.
Her transition from tennis to pickleball was driven by a desire to build a community and engage in a new competitive challenge. In March 2023, she took a significant step by pursuing a professional touring career in pickleball, marking a new chapter in her athletic journey. Her dedication and passion for the game have been evident as she quickly adapted her tennis skills to excel in pickleball, showcasing her versatility and determination.
